| M6 1 MegOhms Preamplifier |
|
The M6 1 MΩ Preamplifier has all discrete circuitry running on +/-35V power supply rails, making preamplifier clipping virtually impossible. The only chips are in the USB DAC and the summing amp that drives the subwoofer for 2.1 stereo systems. All circuit devices are top quality, chosen for excellence in performance and high reliability. InputsThe M6 has three analog inputs and one USB DAC input (PC link). The USB input allows direct connection from a PC for no-compromise music libraries, CD and DVD playback. All inputs feed the 1 MΩ input stage. The internal USB DAC eliminates extra output stages, ground loops, cables and connectors, and other forms of signal degradation. When coupled with the Daniel Hertz M9 media server PC, preloaded with Burwen Bobcat technology, the sonic quality is truly the ultimate. The M6 features the famous Penny & Giles volume control, a costly unit made with aerospace technology. The most transparent way of adjusting volume in existence, this volume control was Introduced to the audio world by audio icon Mark Levinson in the 1970’s. The Penny & Giles control has been put into production again for the Daniel Hertz M6, with the same special taper that Mark developed many years ago. The special taper allows precise adjustment of the smallest increments from tenths of a dB to very large changes, to take advantage of the high resolution and ultra-wide dynamic range of Daniel Hertz speakers. One touch of the volume control and you know this is no ordinary preamplifier. Even at full volume, the M6 produces virtually no audible noise. |
